A New Lease On Life

Close-up of medical equipment in a hospital, featuring tubes and gauges under blue lighting, conveying a clinical and sterile environment

In 1996, Squire Cogswell, in Gurnee, IL, manufactured the first medical air system using scroll technology. This system was manufactured with Powerex / Iwata Scroll Compressors and has served a Lexington, KY Hospital ever since. After more than 28 years of reliable service and 30,000+ hours of service, it was time to decide whether to buy new or update the old… Decision Made!

This 28-year-old compressor became the Patient of GasMedix / MTA. Our team of experienced mechanics and health care professionals transplanted ten new beating hearts (scroll pump/motor) and the desiccant dryer system without SHUTDOWN or RENTAL.

The Powerex / Iwata Scrolls fit back into the same bolt pattern, and the dryer system was remotely located with flex and then moved into place. The outcome was a huge success for the Hospital and Patient a new lease on life for this Medical Air System.
