It’s A New Year – Time To Evaluate Your Facility!
As the calendar turns to the new year, this is the time to evaluate how your facility is doing, what changed in the past year, and what needs further evaluation. This is an appropriate time to look at your medical gas systems and make sure you are maintaining your systems properly and managing future needs.
Regularly scheduled maintenance of your systems can help prevent all major failures and oftentimes recognize issues that can be addressed before they become catastrophic. All major medical vacuum and medical air system manufacturers recommend maintenance schedules based on the systems’ use and needs.
In evaluating system maintenance, considerations for system replacement should be assessed. How old is the system? How is the system performing? Does it require increasingly more repairs or replacement parts? Is there a budget for replacements? Like air and vacuum systems, your gas inlet and outlet terminals should be evaluated and tested for performance regularly. Planned maintenance and making repairs as they are found can relieve major headaches for the facility and the facility manager.
If you would like more information on maintenance programs for medical air and medical vacuums or annual testing of your systems, please contact your MTA Facilities Representative.
